The Legislative Committee would like to inform you of a bill that has been introduced that would decriminalize naturally occurring entheogenic plants.
The Decriminalize Nature MI Bill (SB 0631) was introduced to the Michigan Senate this week by Senators Jeff Irwin and Adam Hollier. The bill has been sent to the Senate Judiciary and Public Safety Committee.
Psilocybin mushrooms and other naturally ocuring entheogenic substances have a history of use that dates back thousands of years and are a large part of sacred ancestral practices. They are non-addictive, low risk and have the potential to provide solutions for PTSD, depression, addiction, end of life anxiety and numerous other problems, leading to better quality of life for thousands of Michigan’s most vulnerable citizens. SB 0631 would decriminalize the non-commercial cultivation and use of these safe, naturally occurring substances.
This is an URGENT call to action for our party members to contact everyone on this Committee to get SB 0631 pushed to the floor for a vote. Please call and email these committee members and encourage them to bring this to a vote and to support this measure as written, doing what’s best for the people of Michigan.
