Link to the September 2022 Michigan Libertarian
Summer 2022 was a busy time for Libertarian activists. Activists volunteered, for outreach efforts, all over the state. This article includes pictures and commentary from those events. Before reflecting on the past, please read about these September volunteer opportunities…
Summer’s Ended and the Allegan County Fair Begins!
By Mary Buzuma, Gubernatorial nominee
This year the Libertarian Party of West Michigan will host a booth at the Allegan County Fair from September 9 – September 17, 2022. The fair is located at 150 Allegan County Fair Drive, Allegan, MI 49010.
Our booth this year is located in Red Industrial Building just inside the main gate. Look for the huge chicken. It’s a prime location between the main gate and kiddie midway and traffic is heavy during fair time which is from 11am – 10pm.
Volunteers Needed!
The LPWM needs volunteers to help man the booth during prime time which is late afternoon to evening and on weekends. It’s a great opportunity to promote the Libertarian Party, as well as our candidates. This is a fresh new opportunity for activists, who enjoyed Summer events, to continue outreach. Volunteers will be given a free pass to the fair which will save you the $8 admission fee.
Escort Libby Through Allegan
Parade is Monday September 12th at 7pm. Parade will start downtown Allegan at 6:30pm. Volunteer to walk with the “Lady Liberty” statue.

Wayne County LP has Summer Picnic, Plans for September 10th Dally
The Libertarian Party of Wayne County first scheduled a Picnic in 2020 when they realized they didn’t have a Dally in the Alley to look forward to. then again in 2021. The Dally in the Alley is back as the COVID-19 malaise recedes in the rear-view mirror, but the picnic has become as tradition.
Speaking of the Dally in the Alley, we need volunteers.
Protest Against Police Brutality Also in Wayne County
Detroit Residents Advancing Civilian Oversight (DRACO), a non-partisan group founded by Scotty Boman, is organizing a protest for police accountability and against brutality. Summer Success in Northern Michigan
By Cory Dean, Northern Michigan affiliate Chair
The Northwestern Michigan Fair was a big success!! (in my opinion) we talked to countless people who appreciated us taking the time to be there! We handed out hundreds of pocket constitutions, commemorative freedom coins and LP rack cards. Opened a lot of eyes and planted a lot of seeds!!! it was a big step in the right direction…
Thanks to everyone who pitched in!!
Ann Arbor Art Fairs: A Summer Tradition
One huge event was the Ann Arbor Art Fairs. Huron Raisin Chair Larry Johnson has kept this outreach effort going for a number of years.
