October Message from the Chair

Since July’s convention, your Executive Committee has been diligently working to move the party forward.

After seeking volunteers, our membership committee has grown and is presently full. With the vacancy created by myself, Adam Childress has taken on the role of Legislative Chair and we’ve established committees for communications, fundraising, activism, and a policy manual.

With a new IT Director in place, the party email services have received a long overdue upgrade, which will streamline communications. Our Newsletter Director has similarly hit the ground running and has done an excellent job in the new role. If the opportunity presents itself, I’d encourage you to take a moment to thank Jami and Donna for their tireless dedication to the party.

In addition to this, I’ve been responding to media requests, conducting interviews, conversing with potential candidates, and finalizing the transition from the previous board. Our affiliates director, Tim Teagan has overseen the reintegration of three affiliates, each of which are actively holding meetings.

Plans for our National Delegate Selection Convention are underway and we’re now seeking volunteers for both our convention and credentialing committees. For information on how to volunteer, click here.

While the specific date and location are yet to be determined, the board has decided to combine this Convention with the nomination of our candidate for the 35th State Senate District. As a result, the convention will take place in January to ensure it transpires prior to the nomination deadline and it will be held within the 35th State Senate District.

Our next Regular LEC Meeting will be October 12th at 7pm on Zoom. Click here to join this meeting. All members are welcome to attend.
