Libertarians Appoint District 12 Representative

James Harris was appointed as a District Representative for the Libertarian Party members in Michigan’s District 12 Congressional District.

Harris was appointed to a two-year term by the Executive Board of the Libertarian Party of Michigan (LEC) at their September 14, 2025 meeting. Click here for a recording of that meeting. 

District 12 was the only district that did not elect a representative at the Libertarian Party’s annual convention held in Port Huron on July 19th This allows the executive board to appoint someone to fill the vacancy. 

Harris is the representative for Libertarians residing in District 12, and will attend and vote on their behalf at the meetings of the LEC. He can be reached at dist12rep@michiganlp.org

The district contains all or portions of the following counties and municipalities:                   

Oakland County: Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms, Franklin, Lathrup Village, Southfield, Southfield Township. Wayne County: Dearborn, part of Dearborn Heights, part of Detroit, Garden City, Inkster, Livonia, Redford Township, and Westland.
