In June, 2016, Nebraska State Senator Laura Ebke left the Republican Party to become a Libertarian.  At the time, she told the Omaha World-Herald  “I got frustrated with some of my colleagues who don’t recognize civil liberties and don’t seem to agree with getting government out of people’s business.”  Since then, she’s continued as an important member of Nebraska’s unicameral “nonpartisan” legislature, serving as chair of its Judiciary Committee.

I had the privilege of getting to know Laura last October at a meeting of a handful of state Libertarian Party chairs in Indianapolis.  I was impressed with her practical advice on what it takes to campaign for and win an election.  And on how you govern, once elected.  She will share that advice at our candidate workshops on March 10 near East Lansing.  And she’ll be our featured speaker for our LibertyFest banquet that evening, following our national convention delegate selection convention.  Click here to sign up now.  You aren’t going to want to miss either event!
