Genesee County residents have a new option to join a local Libertarian group, as the county was “reaffiliated” at the September 14th meeting of the Libertarian Party of Michigan Executive Committee (LEC).
The board’s vote was 9-3 in favor of welcoming Genesee County back into the Libertarian Party of Michigan. Click here for a recording of the LEC meeting.
Genesee County joins Macomb County and West Michigan in being officially reinstated by the newly elected LEC. Due to a party dispute, all three groups were disaffiliated in recent years by previous state leadership.
All Genesee area residents are welcome at the First Reorganizational Meeting to be held on Sunday, September 28th at 4:00 at Vic’s Pit Stop, 5311 Corunna Rd, Flint Twp, MI 4853

Genesee County Libertarian Party is Back!
Dear Libertarian friends and former members,
Can you please help us reshape our county affiliate?
Two years ago, the Genesee County Affiliate of the Libertarian Party of Michigan was disaffiliated by the then-seated state leadership. I write to you today with good news: the newly elected Libertarian Executive Committee has voted to reverse that action and officially reinstate our Genesee County Affiliate.
That means we are back in business; ready to continue building on our past successes in community outreach, advocating for liberty, and supporting candidates who will bring Libertarian principles to local government.
We know that some of you stepped away from the party during the disaffiliation period. Some may feel cautious, ambivalent, or even frustrated. That’s understandable. Our goal with this message is simple: to reconnect, share the good news, and invite you to help shape our renewed affiliate.
