Defend Entrepreneurial Freedom

As Libertarians, we understand that entrepreneurs are the ultimate creators, driving innovation and prosperity by breaking free from bureaucratic constraints. Yet, their freedom is under attack.

StartingFebruary 21, 2025, the Earned Sick Time Act (ESTA) will take effect, imposing one-size-fits-all mandates on all Michigan small businesses with just one or more employees. This law strips business owners and employees of their autonomy, forcing complex, burdensome regulations that interfere with workplace decisions.

We cannot stop ESTA entirely, but we can fight to improve it. Support HB 4002, a measure aimed at reducing its negative impact. The Senate plans to have another committee hearing Tuesday, Feb. 11 where they will consider changes to ESTA. It remains unclear if the committee will consider the Senate version (SB 15) or House Bill 4002. Contact your representatives today and urge them to back HB 4002 to protect small businesses and the entrepreneurs who drive our economy forward!
